LAUNCH Initiative

Salary:  $18.00 per hour + full benefits

 

Location:  Fort Worth, TX

 

 

The LAUNCH Initiative is a multi-year work/training program. The applicants selected to participate in this paid program will primarily work along the 29-mile-long Fort Worth floodway and Marine Creek Lake. The work consists of typical “farm hand” tasks. Duties include:

 

  • Mowing
  • Operating equipment
  • Building fences
  • Forestry
  • Light welding

 

The positions are full-time, 40 hours per week (4, 10-hour days). The schedule will consist of 30 hours of labor-intensive on-the-job training and 10 hours of education per week.

 

 

Year 1

Initial training for the positions will be provided by TRWD.

 

Year 2 & 3

Continued on-the-job training. Additional technical instruction will be provided for participants seeking a registered apprenticeship opportunity.

*Conservation Level: The permitted level of water an entity is allowed to hold in a lake. Any amount above the conservation level is used for the temporary storage of flood waters and must be released downstream.
